Edwin E. Perez
Our chaplain, Reverend Edwin E. Perez, is a Diocese of Arlington priest, ordained to the priesthood on June 9, 2001 by Most Reverend Paul S. Loverde. Fr. Perez spent most of his life in Northern Virginia, graduating from Gar-Field Senior High School in Woodbridge, Virginia in 1985. In the fall of that same year, he went to West Virginia University to study for his undergraduate degree, and in 1989, Fr. Perez received his Bachelor of Music degree.
In the fall of 1996, Fr. Perez entered Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland to study and discern further for the priesthood. He was ordained to the transitional diaconate on June 3, 2000 and served as a deacon at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in McLean until his ordination to the priesthood in 2001. After graduating from seminary and priesthood ordination, Fr. Perez was assigned to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Annandale and served there as a parochial vicar from June 2001 to October 2004. In late October 2004, Fr. Perez was reassigned to St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fredericksburg and served that parish as a parochial vicar until June 2008.
